Six Quirky Things

The Momma tagged me with this Six Quirky Things about Yourself meme.

1. I hate repeating anything. The thought of teaching another child to read nearly paralyzed me. (Fortunately he caught on very quickly and it was a breeze.) When I had to paint my family room and kitchen twice in two weeks it was nearly the undoing of my temper. I seldom cook the same thing in a 5-6 week period. I do not watch reruns.

2. Tea makes my tongue burn. And if anyone knows a solution to prevent it, I'll drink every subsequent glass of tea in your honor. I think I was weaned from the bottle to a glass of iced tea, but then all of a sudden, it makes my tongue burn. I have my hot cuppa in the morning and that's it; any more than that and I'm livin' with the burn all day.

3. I have only gone to bed one time since I was 12 without washing my face and brushing my teeth. My husband finds this hilarious.

4. I do not like to talk. There are a few people who can get me going, especially if it's a topic I'm passionate about, but otherwise I'm a very quiet person. I worried that my first son wouldn't learn to talk since he had mainly me for company. Alas, my fears were unfounded. His vocabulary was extensive at an early age; that is until the teenage gremlin stole it and replaced half his words with "uh," and "um."

5. I am a total priss about touching unpleasant things, and will never be accused of being a "touchy-feely" person. However, the one thing I will not touch is feet. I will touch my own feet, and I will touch my kids' feet until they get too big and start looking all bony and grotesque. I could never be a nurse. And that's okay.

6. Ready for weird? I "type out" many of my thoughts and things I read. It is an imperceptible muscle twinge of my fingers. I also have to type out words similarly when I'm thinking of how to spell them. I like to type, and I type fast.
